TPF-REINZ Research Innovation Challenge call 2019


  • How Can Innovative Data Visualisation Improve Property Market Insight? 

    The Property Foundation is an established registered charity that awards grants to support research that better connects academia, the property industry and society. As a charity The Property Foundation has a remit of supporting, delivering and disseminating high quality, independent reliable knowledge and future thinking. It is administered by a Board of Trustees, comprising of industry members and university appointees. The Board meets to consider awards 4 times a year, for either open or defined calls.

    REINZ (Real Estate Institute New Zealand) is a membership organisation representing more than 14,000 real estate professionals nationwide.

    The first defined call is connected to the sponsoring partner REINZ (Real Estate Institute New Zealand), whose business strategy involves improving technology, presentation of data, communications and education. Proposals should specifically focus on improving both visualization and property market insight of the ‘REINZ Monthly Property Report and Regional Commentary’. 

    The maximum funding granted will be for $20,000 NZD;
    Deadline 5pm - 19th July 2019

    Guidelines: The Proposal should;

    * Include the reference: TPF-REINZ Research Innovation Challenge 2019
    * Broad Focus on ‘How Innovative Data Visualisation Can Improve Property
       Market Insight?’
    * Specific Focus on improving both visualization and property market insight in a practical
       and useful manner for the benefit of New Zealanders
    * Not exceed 1000 words
    * Include the headings: Author(s); Affiliations; Title; Summary; Estimated Project Costings
       (as a table); Aim; Importance; Method; Work Plan (as a table); Practical Applications
    * Explain how you will incorporate a sample of REINZ statistical data   
    * Have a sustainable consumer-led outcome that would benefit New Zealanders
    * Demonstrate how the research better connects academia, the property industry
       and society
    * Include a timeline no longer than 3 months to complete
    * Incorporate the intended output of an industry relevant report of 5000 words
    * Involve a presentation of findings at a Property Foundation Event in Auckland, NZ
    * Accept terms that any outputs remain the Intellectual Property of TPF-REINZ
    * Provide clear details of spending (as a table) up to a maximum funding of $20,000 NZD
       [Include researcher(s) time, software, travel, subsistence; plus include travel and
       accommodation expenses for the Auckland presentation, particularly if application
       author(s) reside outside of New Zealand]
    * Be submitted to 
    * Arrive no later than 5pm on 19th July 2019
